About the Artist
Alissa Rose
Alissa Rose is a New Jersey/New York based Artist and Art Therapist. She has studied over the years with various artists in the areas of graphite drawing and oil painting. She has also earned a degree in Visual Arts, concentrating in drawing and painting, as well as a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Art Therapy from NYU. In addition to being an Artist, Alissa Rose is also a Licensed and Nationally Credentialed Art Therapist.
Alissa Rose works with a variety of media including oil paints, charcoal, and graphite. Her collective works focus in, twist, and rearrange the familiar into expressive depictions. She takes a special interest in exploring the bodily vessel and sensory environment through visual expression. She uses unique rearrangements of what is familiar, and creatively uses color, form, symmetry and movement to engage viewers in a new way of experiencing the visual space.
Alissa Rose is deeply committed to using art as a vehicle for self-expression, connection, and critical reflection. Her work integrates principles of psychology and visual art to engage viewers in examining the relationship between the sensory environment, the mind’s construction of reality, and the dynamic interplay between perception and individual development
